The Entrance To Vajdahunyad Castle

The Vajdajunyad Castle is located inside in City Park. Built  for the Millennial Exhibition of 1896.The castle was built only as a  temporary Exhibition. But it was so popular that is was kept as permanent. The castle complex has some very interesting things within its walls, A Chapel, as well as some very interesting statues. To me the castle was very impressive, it looked like a medieval castle out of a Disney fairy tail. But I have to be honest I was very disappointed when I found that the castle was not real. It took away my enthusiasm. But I will still recommend it if you are visiting Budapest.

Hero Square

Hero Square is located at the entrance  of City Park. The pillar in the center, is the tomb of the unknown soldier, on the top of the pillar is a statue of Archangel Gabriel. Gabriel symbolizes heavenly protection over the  Hungarian people. The statues on the left are mostly Hungarian  kings who where significant in Hungarian history, as well as religious figures. The Statues on the right are a more unique group of historical figures, from soldiers, scholars, and Statesman. This open air Pantheon of Hungarian greats, build during the Astro-Hungarian Empire, Is very breath taking at first sight.

The Statue Of József Eötvös

Eövtös was  a hungrarian statesmen's, who served as minster of education, and religion, he was also a writer and an advocate for the Jewish community of Budapest. All of this during the height of Austro-Hungarian empire.
This is  quite an interesting pictures. At the foot of the statue are to elder gentleman playing traditional music. It is a common sight throughout Budapest to see street performers, it seems like in every corner there is someone performing. It might seem annoying but all the performers where very polite, unlike other places in Europe. The other interesting thing is the young women with her bike. She was waiting for a friend or a date.  In a lot of places in Europe  statues are used as meeting places. Statues are important landmarks within European  cityscapes.  While in the united states they are overlooked. In Europe they are essential part of the feel of the city.

Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace (2)

The Klotid Palace is located in one of the main arteries on Pest side of Budapest, it also located near one of the bridges. It is a hotel/bar.  It was the first building I saw after exiting the metro station. It was a great introduction to the city and its Austro-Hungarian architecture that is prevalent throughout the city.
