The Temple Of Hephaestus

The Agora Museum

Headless Goddess

Stoa Of Attalos

Stoa,  is the Greek name for covered walk way. The Stoa Of Attalos,  is located in the agora and it is the entrance to the agora museum. The Stoa is filled with statues from pantheon of Greek Gods.

The Church Of The Holy Apostles

The Church Of The Holy Apostles also known as the Agii Apostolic church, is located inside the ancient Agora. The church dates back to the 10th century. It is a exceptional example of Byzantine architecture.

The Temple Of Hephaestus

The Temple Of Hephaestus, is located in the ancient Agora. This was my favorite ancient site in all of Athens. It is one of best preserved of the temples in Athens, It nearly complete. Its location also adds to this amazing temple. It is tucked away in a small hill on far east side of the Agora surrounded by olive trees.  All those things add to a feeling of of finding a hidden gem.

Athens Central Market (6)

The Athens Central Market has to be one of the most interesting places in Athens. It is worth visiting. It is a great places to see how unique everyday life  is in Athens. The market in located in  a central street in Athens. It is mostly housed in very large build with stalls all  around the build as well as across from it. Across the street is where grain stalls are. Around  the outside the building is mostly fruit. On the inside its sea food, and in the heart of the market is where the butchers are located. When I visited the market it was later in the after noon, so it was not as busy as usual. But everyday I would walk past this market, and in the morning it was  bustling. Interacting with the vendors was a really cool experience. The fish stalls had wide variety of sea food. They had Squid, Octopus, calamari, and a bunch of species of fish. According to the vendors all the fish where caught that day in the Mediterranean. The nicest and most talkative vendors where the butchers. They would ask where I was from and they would tell me about all the fresh cuts of meat they had.  But they where  also very pushy.  Its of really strange when somebody is being very push while sharping knives.

The Pediment Sculpture

This is same pictures as the pervious. The only difference as you may have noticed is that this one does not have a filter.
Do you think filters add or take away from a picture? I would love to hear what you think.

The Pediment Sculpture With Filter

The Acropolis

One of my favorite things from the Acropolis was the view!!!  It was an amazing 360 degree view of Athens.

The Parthenon With Filter

The Parthenon

The Parthenon has to be one of the most recognizable buildings in the world. It also has long and unique history. It was first used as a Temple to Athena,  whom was the patron God of Athens. Also during that time the Temple was used as treasury for the Athenian government. Then it became a Christian Church dedicated to Mary, and final around the 1800s it became a Mosque. Knowing all of those facts and just how famous this building is, I was a little underwhelmed. It could because the building was full of construction cranes due to the fact that Greek government wants to make sure it is well preserved. Its an amazing building but I was a little disappointed, maybe I just picked the wrong time to visit.
