Monastiraki

Monastiraki is a flea market in the heart of Athens. There are shops and restaurant.  It is very touristy but still a pretty cool place with really cheap food.

Palacio De Cristal

Palacio De Cristal was built in 1887 by Ricardo Velázquez Bosco. It was built to show case flora and fauna from the Philippines. Today it is under the control of the Reina Sophia meseum. It is used as an art space. The lake in front is filled with fish, ducks, and it least from what I could tell, three species of turtles. The Palacio De Cristal is located in the middle of Parque Del Burn Retiro. Which makes for a really relaxing place.  But don't get me wrong the place is very lively and full of people and artists finding inspiration in this beautiful place.

The Royal Palace

The royal palace was built in 1738 for king Philip the 5th. This building is just amazing. This picture does not do it any justice. Its one of those things you just have to see in person. I could not find a place where I could make the whole building fit.

Plaza de Spain

The plaza was designed in honor of Miguel De Cervantes. The plaza was designed by Rafael Martinez  Zapatero, Pedro Mugturuza, and Lorenzo coullaut Valera. It was built from 1925-30 but finished in 1957 by the son of the designer.

My hostel

At the hostel that I stayed in you could draw on the walls. Those are some examples of what some people drew.

Art work outside of a hotel

Me and Adelaide in front of the Prado museum

Spending time in hostel has giving me the opportunity to meet many different people. I met Adelaide and her two awesome sisters in hostel in Madrid. All three of them made my stay in Madrid more pleasant. The picture was taken after we had spent the day at the Prado museum. It turned out that Adelaide was a lover of art, she was also very knowledgeable.  It was awesome finding someone who loves art as much as she does. All those things made that day in Madrid one of the best ones of my trip so far.
