This neoclassical build located in Stadiou Street near the center of Athens, has a very unique history. The building was first used as the house for King Otto, then it became the Hellenic Parliament until 1932. In 32 it became the National History Museum. The entrance is dominated by large statue of general Theodoros Kolokotronis on a bronze horse. Kolokotronis was civil war hero. This statue gives the location a feel of grandeur. I stumbled on this pleasant site, as I was heading to Syntagma Square. As it is located on side street that leads to Syntamga Square.
